The amount of lean body mass one carries later in their lifetime is directly associated with a lower early mortality rate. This is do to both the physical independence afforded by becoming stronger and also the process of changing the health of our bodies body and minds through physical exertion. In the safe and controlled environment created by evidence-based exercise programming and quality guidance, we are able to incrementally take on heavier physical loads and improve flexibility progressively over time. In this same pursuit, our brains also grow and we build robust resilience in our cognitive and emotional health. This work toward developing and maintaining physical fitness is one of the most impactful things we can do for both immediate states of mind and health as well as our longevity.
